13+ I assume.
Mine said the Maths calculator paper was hard and Geography had a difficult question in.The rest were ok.

Glad it's all over. Maths calculator paper was hard here as well.

Yes I heard there was a curve ball in geography and apparently the Latin was really hard. I get the feeling that the calculator paper is tricky - I know DS finds it harder than the non-calculator one.

I can relax for two days until Monday when Dd starts her A levels.Though chivvying a young 12 year old through CE has been far more traumatic than GCSE or AS levels.

Oh God yes. The diversion tactics they have!

is there a programme for dc at your school post CE?

There's loads going on - camping trip, leavers dinner, school fair for y6&8 families, special assembly, drinks for patents/bbq for the kids...

Oh and there was a q in history that was curvy too - about a Tudor battle England lost rather than won or something like that. Was hoping for back death!

Hi can I jump on here and ask what the common entrance exam is for? (Or maybe I should just google lol)

Secondary school. It's usually 11+ (so going into year 7) or 13+.

Depending on the school, there may be pre tests and exams, and conditional offers made based on the child passing the exams at xx% (ours was 70%).

Bliss not having to nudge them to revise. My DS felt it all went well. Felt the papers were fair, no complaints other than RS when he lost his way, muttered about the layout of the paper being confusing. Unfortunately this means very little as he can come out of an exam beaming triumphantly and then produce a not very impressive C. Good luck with A Levels Teta.

Fionavan, My ds is very good at that too!
Asking him how they went is absolutely useless.

We've been told Friday but the kids are all saying that if they have failed the parents get a phone call on Tuesday. Everyone has been warned NOT to call me unless it's an emergency!

OMG! I wish I hadn't asked now..on tenterhooks tomorrow then! Thank goodness he is up a mountain camping, hopefully no phone signal!

Our school kept them back until the year group returned from their residential on the Friday. Then each pupil collected an envelope with their results. I think had there been a problem the head would have called parents mid week.

We've just had the dreaded phone call.... Got to go to DS's preferred school for a discussion this afternoon. Just cancelled my diary at work. Wish my luck!

Good Luck! If his mocks results were better maybe have those to hand? Any sporting or music talent .. The fact they want to meet with you hopefully means all is not lost.
