Ds is 15 years old (y11) and has scruffy handwriting.
His English teacher asked him to try and find if his handwriting was better with a non-ballpoint pen as he thought that ds might be penalised for having bad handwriting in his GCSEs and he doesn't want to waste time deciphering ds' scrawl. (The latter but could be an exaggeration invented by ds but thought I'd add it for completeness)
Having tried a bunch, his handwriting is much clearer when he uses a fine writer pen as he has to write slower. It's costing me a fortune buying these pens as they don't last as long as gel or ballpoint (they are from drawing not writing really).
This is the first time that a teacher has told him that his handwriting is awful (according to ds). Can he learn how to write better with a ballpoint? His eyesight is fine and he's in high sets.
