My lovely god-son has just received his school choices back. My lovely friend is destraught (sp?) he hasnt got into ANY of his choices and has been given a school that is aparently SO crap.

He is clever, but has just missed them by a few points. My best friend is going to turn this place down. What can she do??? Any one had this happen?

Is he on waiting list for selective school?

If the one he has been offered is the worst in the area (did your friend put this one on form) you have nothing to lose if you turn it down as they would have to find you somewhere else which would only be better

thanks astronomer
He is about 67 on some waiting lists. It seems that the prob. is with Barnet, as there are some really good schools, totally oversubscribed and then some dreadful ones; nothing in-between.

Yes, Mill Hill also very good. Your face really has got to fit to get into QE though. Academia AND sport are what they strive towards.
