Hi,
We are planning to relocate to Brecon. Can anyone make any recommendations on the best state secondary school in Brecon please?
I really appreciate any help and advice.

There's only one state high school in Brecon. Brecon High. There is a second smaller high school in Gwernyfed but the two are due to "merge". www.powys.gov.uk/en/schools-students/plans-for-powys-schools/secondary-school-review/

Both schools are English language medium. I think that most who want a Welsh language medium secondary education go to Builth Wells.

There aren't many secondary schools due to very rural area.

Happy to be corrected... it's a good couple of decades since I lived in the area :)

Having just read properly, school merger is off. Going to remain two schools with improved facilities at one and a rebuild at the other.

My cousins kids did go to Builth and not moved.
Crickhowell high always had good reputation but takes kods from nearby counties of gwent and Monmouthshire too.
