11+ exam panic

Is anyone else starting to get a bit panicked about up coming 11+ school exams? Was thinking of putting my DD into a group revision/preparation class. Does anyone know if such a thing exists as think it might be nice for her to get some practice alongside other kids going through the same thing. A tutor group preferably in the Putney area would be great.

Hi Mrs. I think if your DD is in a prep, you can probably trust that all 11 plus prep will be covered, as they will have done little else since Easter in Year 5 and the homework ramps up considerably. They often advise against tutoring as a different approach can confuse and be counterproductive.
Presumably you know the 3 or 4 schools you're applying for by now? Some schools have a VR / NVR paper, but an increasing number don't bother with this nowadays. So don't waste time on this if its not necessary! At this stage, exam prep needs to be tailored to the style of the papers your DD will be sitting. Get past papers if you can and work through these. Familiarisation can be key.
11 plus forum may recommend tutors in your area, but make sure they have a good knowledge of the particular schools your applying to. There is something called SchoolSmart (I think that's what it's called) in Barnes that offer tutors and/ or mock exams.
Good luck!
