Rosebery School Epsom, any recent feedback?

Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone had any recent experience/ feedback on Rosebery school Epsom? What is good about it? What are the negatives? Struggling to decide on a secondary school for my DD who is currently in YR5. We are looking for a good school where she will be happy and encouraged to do her best. I just feel a child does their best when they are happy so good pastoral care is very important. She is bright but needs a push sometimes to work but I don't feel an overly pressured environment will work well for her. What other schools would you consider?

You have to live very close to Rosebery to get a place but I assume you know that. It is a good school with quite a mixed intake of pupils. They have a small percentage of rather troubled pupils. I think an able pupil would do well there but their list of university destinations is quite unimpressive. Nonsuch will be the preferred destination for the very ambitious parents.

Thanks Jeanne that's interesting to hear. I don't think a grammar school would be the right environment for my DD so maybe we should aim for an area that has more than one good school choice but really struggling right now!

I agree, Rosebery's catchment area is vital as they don't offer places based on tests/ability to 'outsiders' anymore. I have friends who don't think the school is as good as it used to be a few years ago but their expectations might be very different than yours.
