Ripon Grammar - entry year 9

Hello does anyone have experience of the entrance exams please?
DD is planning to sit the exams in February next year for entry September 2017 into year 9. We understand there are only a few places (we are applying for a boarding place), although I think there are fewer applicants for these places than the day places.
The school have been v helpful and informative and I understand she will sit three papers in maths, English and science which will test current curriculum knowledge. Students are only considered eligible to be admitted (subject to other criteria of course) if they achieve 60% or higher. What I can't get a handle on is how difficult these exams will actually be? DD is bright and conscientious, but I am aware has not been taught at the same pace (or depth) as her brother who went through the same school a few years ago. Do I need to look at doing extra with her? Anyone with recent experience please help!

Ripen grammar is not a particularly selective grammar school, and your dd will be very much favoured as the boarding fees will bring a lot of money into the school.

Can you get some generic practice papers from a shop, or get a tutor for a few sessions to guide work?
