Has anyone any experience of homeschooling using InterHigh or similar. My son is 13 & we are moving to America but still want him to have a UK education

Hi OP

DD is year 9 at Interhigh, she has classmates from all over the world, the one thing you would need to consider is time difference

First lesson am is generally 9.30 uk time last lesson can finish at 4 would you be able to join lessons from the US at these times as they are interactive just as a normal school?

How does your DD find interhigh user

I am considering it for mine after a horrendous year 7 at school due to bullying

Have told them if things aren't better within a couple of weeks now they are back I will be keeping her off school until they sort things out but interhigh is my back up when they fail to deliver a workable solution

Is it as good as it appears ?

Interhigh has been a life saver for DD she is a changed person after being bullied and is much happier
at Interhigh

Ds3 used an online school for a year in year 9. His state secondary school was unsupportive (high absence rate due to health condition) and we didn't have the time and emotional resources to home educate ourselves (dh terminally ill at the time).

It was a useful stop gap for us, enabling me to focus on dh and defer looking for a better local school for ds. He followed the UK curriculum so I knew he could slot back into school later. But, overall, it didn't suit ds as he missed the face to face contact with teachers and other pupils. So it depends on your ds's way of working. The pastoral side was very good, much better than in ds's first secondary school and they are used to having dc of different nationalities and supporting dc who have been bullied.

I thought some of the online schools said they couldn't support US based students due to time differences so you need to check that with them, OP.

thank you for your input. I am frantically researching the best to educate our son while we start a new life in USA. I don't really want him to go to an american school tho

Why don't you want him to go to an American school? We have friends that moved to US and their children went through their education system, and plan to come to UK for University.
