In order to help my son with his French, German and Spanish I thought he should try and read simple story books in the respective languages. Any recomnendatoons, please

How old is your ds? Obviously it will depend on his age and likes/dislikes.

Tintin in the original French? Cartoons are good as you can see what is happening in the story.

How well does he know these languages? Depending on his level of competence, see if you can find novels that he likes and knows well already in French translation. If you already 'know' the story, characters, location etc, it can be a very helpful way to grow vocabulary (without having to look every second word up), and general reading competence without really noticing, because you have your original knowledge of the text to fall back on. Friends' children have, for instance, read some of the Harry Potter books in French, and others' Enid Blytons in German, and found it helpful.

If you can get it, le petit Nicolas series in French. Very enjoyable stories around that age.

The German easy reader series (google them) are brilliant and have different levels as bedome more advanced. They are basically German novels simplified for the language learner.

For French, I would go (as suggested above) with the comic strips: I would use Tintin and / or Asterix to start with. They are easy to find and everyone loves them, your son will love it and it will not feel like work.

Le petit prince is easy in the original French, I read it when I was a teen studying French

Not story books but Duolingo (a language learning website) is amazing.
