DD was lucky enough to get offers from these schools. Can't decide which one. Only got until Friday to make a decision! Please can anyone give me an insight!

To have 3 offers, at least 2 must be in the private sector.

Can you specify exactly which schools you mean?

No, all from state schools. Got offer from st. Phils on the national offer day. 2 weeks later, offers came from ursuline and coloma.

Given the geographical spread of the three, where do you live and how easily could DD get to the three schools? That would have a major impact if it was my decision.

Have you been to all the schools? Which one was your first choice or highest choice on the form?

Fairly out of date (left 9 years ago Shock and last sister of friend left 4 or so years ago) but i went to Coloma, I loved it (white bloody tights nonwisthanding). Didn't like Ursuline at all - in fact DM moved us so I fell out of an Ursuline feeder school

St Phils was that bit too far, I don't know anyone who went there.

For me, it was a really supportive environment, and a lot of teachers and facilities staff went out of their way to support a fairly messed up teen in quite a quiet way. I don't think I was pushed as hard as I possibly should have been results wise, but also see above messed up part!

Coloma's our first choice, Ursuline second and St. Phil's our third. Got offer from St. Phils so accepted it straight away but kept DD on the waiting list for the other 2. Then the offer came. I've heard some first hand nasty info about the pastoral care in Ursuline. However, the results are impressive and the closest to home. Coloma, on the other hand is the farthest.

St. Phils is 20 minutes by train. We loved the feel of the school, it has a very caring and community feel, very friendly staff and students. Plus the enormous space and facilities are bonus. All three seem to provide good results.

A friend of mine moved her DD to start Year7 at St.Phil's from a highly desirable indie. Both are absolutely thrilled with the school.

Thanks ohtobeanonymous. We chose St. Phil's at the end. DD's top choice and I think the excellent pastoral care of the school is a big factor. Plus the enormous ground and facilities are bonus!

Ah great news - I think you will both be very happy with your choice.

Hi I put Coloma as First choice and was offered St phils. Currently on waiting list. Have to ring tomorrow to confirm DD position on list. Do you know your distance from home to Coloma? We are 0.2 miles over the 5.08 furthest offer from the school. I'm just interested to see who they offered too after the national offer day.
