Reviews of St Dunstans, Catford?

We are in the midst of a crisis with our year 7 son after the Lewisham state comprehensive we sent him to has deteriorated significantly under new leadership (and it was pretty bad to begin with!). He is bright and motivated. We face sitting tight and waiting for a place to come up at another Bromley school (he'd be 10th on the waiting list), or finding a place at an Independent School. St Dunstans may have a place available. I'd really value any feedback on St Dunstans from parents who have children at the school.....Thank you!

I know a couple of parents with children in Y8 at St D's who are very happy with it, but afraid no first hand experience. Another couple of friends are considering it for their current Y5 children. For some more traffic, you could post on the local eastdulwich forum (family discussion section might be good). Best wishes to your son.

If I could afford it I certainly would send my DS to St'D rather then Colfe's, but do post on ED forum as mentioned.

Have you tried other lewisham schools? At this point the waiting lists might drop significantly- askes is excellent, ive heard good things about deptford green these days.

forest hill boys too, i dont know that one well, but the girls version is good...

Kingsdale is also good if youre bromley side of lewisham.

Thank you. We actually live in Bromley, but on the borders with Lewisham....

St dunstans will be a bit of a pita to get to then? The traffic round the catford one way is horrible at peak times.

Going out to bromley or dulwich might be better? the harris academy in crystal palace is another excellent school.

It'd be train all the way (am not touching that traffic!), and he could manage that by himself no problem. Thanks for your advice - this is the first time I've used one of these forums so it's really nice to get the input.
