Waiting list 2017, 13+, CE

Am I right in thinking that if a waiting list hasn't moved by now, when deposits have had to be paid, then it's not likely to move before the CE selection deadline in March 2017?

Thanks

I don't think so. This is for 2017 Sept entry? When my son did CE there was a lot of waiting list movement right before the exam.
Some people pay two deposits.

I know Eton forces example offers places off its waiting list right up until the start of yr 9 a friends DS was offered a place the day before he was due to start somewhere else. Secondly when scholarships are sat, in your DC's case Spring early summer 2017 there also might be some movement. I know of at least three children who turned down non scholarship places at very selective schools in favour of a scholarship at a less selective school.
Ring the admission office of the school where you're on the waiting list, I've always found them to be very helpful. Find out how long the waiting list is, where your DC is on it, how many children in previous years get offered places and what they honestly think your chances are and see if you can do anything to improve his chances, some schools encourage regular updates about a child's progress, lead role in school play, captain of the the rugby teams, highest ever number of runs in cricket etc. writing prize etc.
Good luck.
