GCSE Revision - how much are your dc doing?

What the title says really - how much if any revision are your dc doing at the moment or what is their plan.
Dc1 insists no one is doing anything yet, but not sure I believe him! He is fairly bright but not the sort that can get away with not doing any.

My DS is doing some everyday. He needs to get good marks to stay at his schools sixth form.
He is currently re reading his English Lit books.
he still has a Mock exam to do this week so is revising maths also.

DS has been doing past papers (Maths & Sciences) since October half term and bits of revision most days as he always seems to have a test to revise for.

He has mocks this week so this Feb half term has been mostly spent on revision and more past papers.

The school runs revision classes so he goes to the ones he feels he needs to.

Mock was before Christmas. He has to carry on working according to teachers comments and monitoring. He does lots if homework part of it being revision

Ds1 worked really hard for the mocks after Christmas. Has done about half an hour a day since, nothing last week through the holidays but is planning on hitting books/past papers/ anything else that's useful from today. He has bee going to lunchtime classes on subjects he feels he needs more support with.

DD has created the most beautiful revision planner which she also laminated and has placed proudly on our fridge.

I think it took her longer to design the damn thing than she has spent actually revising

Thankfully her school are making them do revision catch ups for their weaker subjects in school time.

a little. Slow and steady at the moment, but tbh I think that is sensible. It's quite a long haul to go yet.

School are running various revision sessions which will help, but have also been giving a lot of homework, so its quite hard for dd to find extra revision time, especially when there are still CA's to finish.

He is year 11 - so 9 subjects for ds as he took one early.

He had mocks in January and didn't really do enough revision.

I've suggested 2 hours school work - this is to include homework - but excluding the day I know he has activities and almost no time. Given his school commute is 5 minutes this still gives him lots of time to relax.

So I guess I'm only really suggesting 30-60 minutes self directed revision a day. At least I feel this isn't out of step with everyone else on here

Mocks this week...I'm hoping the fruits of her (lack of) labour might focus her thoughts before May/June!

Just started - an hour of revision one lunchtime in school and an hour at home most weekdays. Free at the weekends for now.
At half term he did a bit of Maths and French online and a bit of Geography reading.
He got a D in his Geography and French mocks so he needs to catch up a bit, although all his French assessments have been C or B's and his Geography teacher says he knows the answers, he just doesn't write enough. Says he has done a good controlled assessment though.

According to DS none of his friends are revising yet!

Not enough, his mock results just through were pretty disappointing. He needs to go up a grade in every subject. Parents evening this week so will ask about expectations then. I have booked him into a revision course over Easter.

One of the schools tips for the holidays I thought was good was to follow the school day timetable as a revision guide during the day.

Mine started revising in half term. He has a lovely revision planner that he is mostly ignoring but is getting down to a couple of hours revision a week on top of the past papers and reading that school have set. The main thing that has got him moving is that all his friends have started revising too. One of his circle is a highly motivated all round A* pupil and she is the driving force behind revision. They had the results from their mocks a few weeks since and DS has got the message that a little more work will probably lift him up to the next grade.

He revised for the mocks, which were in January. Since then, he has only done revision or past papers when teachers set these as homework. I am hoping to see some independent revision happening in the Easter holidays.

Hardly any. I simply cannot get DD motivated enough to do any. I have to switch the router off because all she does is message her friends and boyfriend if I leave her to her own devices.

Absolutely nothing. In fact has technically failed one already, shame she was predicted an A* but I can't force her to study or in fact actually go to bloody school.

I tried that Bun but she she kicks off, swears, hits and smashes ornaments. Leaving her to it, she fails it's her bloody funeral I have done all I can.

About 2.5 hours a night including school work. Weekends vary depending on where she is.

I should also have said that there's a chunk of stealth science revision going on. School are trialling Tassomai this year and DS is doing the science tests on his phone in the car while we are out and about. It's time that he would usually spend watching videos of pandas or cats so it's creating revision time out of wasted time.

Same as Dreamgirls - still lots of homework and extra-curricular (plus loads of fixtures this week).
Am reassuring DD that some, if not much, of this will count towards revision. At least I'm hoping so... I recall the same frustration some 33 years ago, having devised the most fandabidohzee revision schedule of my own, to have it scuppered by those pesky teachers, who thought they knew best

quite a lot in some respects - school seems to have pretty much finished most / all the content for most subjects so I get the impression a lot of lesson focus is consolidating, practice papers etc. Seems to be an element of knuckling down at home in focused 20-30 minutes bursts which I think is a sensible approach, although still a gap between how much DS2 perceives he is doing as compared with what he is actually doing.

DS has been in the library every day in half term because he's easily distracted at home.

That's a bit harsh. Is it a private school?

I would like to know how to get DD motivated to revise, because nothing I have tried will work. OH and I have had arguments about DD's lack of motivation to revise because he feels that she needs to find the resource within herself, and by removing the tools of procrastination (mobile, internet access) that this isn't teaching her anything. But when she has her mobile or access to Messenger that is all she does.

She seems utterly incapable of doing any kind of schoolwork or revision without having an ongoing conversation with her boyfriend or school friends.
