St Paul's Colet Court 11+ deferred exam

My DS going to sit in Colet Court 11+ deferred exam next Saturday.
The syllabus is on the website but for English it says there is a 45 minute paper for composition writing. Does anyone know if this is 45 mins to write one essay, or a selection of shorter essays? There is a lot of detail about what the maths paper covers, but not very much at all about the English. does anyone got previous experience ? Any help gratefully received.

It will probably be 1 essay to be chosen from a selection of topics.

When you say "Deferred 11+", do you mean your son is currently 9 y.o./Year 5? There is an 11+ entry and a 11+ deferred entry. The one next Sat is for regular 11+ entry.

Saturday is for both the 11+ and 11+ deferred entry. The 11+ deferred entry is for state school boys in year 5 who are accepted for entry in the 4th year (Year 7) in two academic years, whereas the 11+ is for both state school and prep school boys in Year 6 for entry this coming September into the 4th Year.

I recall mine saying he'd written one story, but I imagine it could change from year to year. Good luck. He's there now and loving it (deferred 11+place).
