Signing in.

The boy set off this morning saying he had an RS exam to deal with but he was to be rewarded afterwards with an algebra exam. Strange child.

Good luck AuntP

Littleham I hope the journey to school was uneventful.

DD has gone off quite cheerfully this morning with a fresh baked croissant for the train I hope I haven't set a precedent for the next month Grin

I sent her a good luck text when I set off to take DS to primary school and then panicked that she hadn't handed her phone in and would get disqualified. It was OK but I won't be doing that again Confused

Stress levels quite high here.

A few weeks ago I was feeling smug about how hard DD was working and how calm she was about it all.

It didn't last...

Not sure who is going to be more relieved when they're over - me or him!!

Checking in.

DS1 has Alegra award and Citizenship today.

Report
RufusTheReindeer · 11/05/2015 09:43

Ds1 has Citizenship this afternoon. An hour and one of those exams with no real essays...you know the answer or you don't so not a bad one to start with

He is very nervous...completely ready for school by 8.05 when normally I'm yelling at 8.20. And then he was sat on the stairs for a bit

And once I sent him off to school i wanted to cry Grin pathetic!!

Good luck to all your children...it's all over for mine on the 10th of June, hopefully he will have a bit more confidence once he is a few more exams in

Calm and collected on the exterior, internally, a crumbling mess!! Smile
DD has her first exam tomorrow. Where has all the time gone? It seems like yesterday I was taking her to her first morning play group...

Glad there is a new thread. It's going to be a LONG month!

None today, but two tomorrow and not their favourites tomorrow. I have a double dose (twins). I have never had stressed children and never sure if that's good or bad. Pity they don't pick up anxiety from others and work harder. It's study leave today so I don't think they've quite woken up yet.....

Report
OddBoots · 11/05/2015 10:10

I'm amazed at how different schools do things, there is no study leave here. They need to stay at school every day until 25th June with the final 2 weeks being an intensive focus on various life skills like finance, parenting, first aid and writing CVs.

dd's exams have kicked off properly this week, though thankfully we do have art done and dusted already. She has RS (Ethics) today and I think that's not such a bad one to start with. Hoping she keeps an eye on her time management as during mocks main lesson to be learned was to make sure to answer all the questions - a couple of papers went a bit pear-shaped. I gave her a last minute reminder on this and she took it in good spirits so went it to this first one with a smile. Picking her up in a bit just after 11. More Biology revision this afternoon I think, mixed in with a smattering of French vocab Smile

DD1 has gone off today not overly worried as "it's only RE" Hmm

Mind you I did feel for her when she texted me at 0800 to say her incoming bus was late so her connecting bus had already left so she wouldn't be at school until 0835

I think she'll be getting the earlier bus tomorrow...

DD has 2 exams today, RE and Citizenship. Like Rufus's ds, she was up and out of bed straight away, no prodding needed Grin

Hi all. I hope I can get through the next few weeks unscathed with a sense of humour. Oh and Wine.

Sad

Littleham · 11/05/2015 10:37

oh Hi - didn't spot this thread until now. Yes - we made it through the road works as it was just setting up today, but I am now hemmed in by Road Closed signs.

RS today. French and Biology tomorrow.

DD seemed as cool as a cucumber (is that good?), but she had texts from friends who had no sleep whatsoever due to nerves. Poor girls.

Sparklingbrook · 11/05/2015 10:39

I have bus dilemma. It's a school bus but keeps arriving late, 9am exams are a worry. So I will probably be driving the 12 miles to ensure DS gets there in good time.

Also there are flash revision sessions at 8am which I will have to take him in for.

20 more minutes of ethics to go…. not that I'm anxious or anything:) But just seeing this in DofD gave me butterflies. Quite a few GCSE parents at MNHQ. Good luck to all (and that's parents as well as teens:))

Just explained to dh that dd has 2 weeks of exams before half-term and then 2 more weeks afterwards - and roughly one subject a day
He wouldn't have a clue what was going on otherwise - was just surprised that it's half-term in 2 weeks. And vaguely wondered if our exams stretched over such an interminably long time back in the day? We both thought maybe not but couldn't actually remember - it was a long time ago!

Signing in. Ethics paper due to finish soon, looking forward to seeing more ticks on the list of ones done.

DS has gone into first SATs exam with tooth dangling by a thread. I was out early to buy yet more printer ink and toffees. DH spent half an hour this morning (his birthday) trying to get a sodding tooth out.

DD did seem to have slept and did do a tiny bit of revision last night. She claims she will be revising for English Lit and Geography which are next week.

Pretty Shock rumours doing rounds about a teacher. Best not put on Internet but good luck to School with Ofsted on that one if they turn up imminently.

((hugs)) dingit.

I had a big cry over it all last week. I feel ok today but it's going to be up and down I think.
