Help moving to East Kilbride - good areas for secondary schools and rural living

Hello - hoping for some advice... Relocating to East Kilbride for work with dd10 years. Trying to work out where to buy /rent (at least initially) so that we can settle down and daddy can get established at primary school that feeds to good secondary school. Hoping for rural/semi rural location. Wondering about strathaven? If we tried for east ren schools exactly how close to the school do you need to be to get in? (I assume all very over subscribed....). Thanks for any tips

Of course that should have read dd get established at primary school :-)
