Year 10 timetable?

Ds is going into Year 10. He has no timetable yet and we have been given no idea what GCSE's are going to be taken. Is this the norm? Dh thinks it's usual not to get given a timetable until the first day back but I thought you would have it in advance generally.
I would add that ds is at a specialist school (ASD) with acute anxiety issues so I would have expected this planning to be done well in advance really :(

As a general rule I wouldn't expect timetables to be issued until September but I know how important transistion planning is for folk on the spectrum, so, if it's a specialist school, then I'd have thought they would have had preparation whenever things are likely to change.

Very usual not to have the timetable until the day you return or possibly a day or two beforehand. What do you mean, no idea what GCSEs are going to be taken? Surely your ds has already chosen his options for GCSE? Is he new to this school or have they been more organised in previous years, hence expecting the timetable earlier?
