Is Academy taking the piss?

Dd sat GCSE maths in yr9, two years early. I wasn't convinced, but she got an A, Academy said no need to resit, so this year she's doing AS.
Ok. But they don't have the resources. The teacher was trying to teach a split class, GCSE and AS. We complained last November, and they sorted it out, or so we thought. DD has just sat her mock, and got an E, and says she doesn't want to sit paper this year. No communication from school whatsoever. apparently most of class dropped a grade. She then tells me they do not have full time teacher anymore, as they have had GCSE students added to their class again to boost their grades.
It seems they can no longer be bothered with the AS students. Is it then super coincidence that they have scrapped the sixth form, so don't need AS results for their league table? DD would have been better off doing an additional year GCSE and getting an A*. I'm also worried that it will knock her confidence.

Not even sure why I'm on here, but just needed a rant really. Maybe someone needs to hand me some mn grips?

You don't need a grip, you need a better school. This is a huge piss take and the school have massively let your DD down. The jump from GCSE to AS is massive, there is no way a teacher can teach a mixed class and be effective. The GCSE pupils are also being let down.

Thanks pointy, I thought I was overreacting, I think I feel worse now.
The only good thing I can see is she will be going to sixth form college and effectively starting the AS again, and she will be ahead of the rest, and be able to put more into her other subjects.
It's a bit late in the game for a new school, but that hasn't stopped me sending in a heated email. I'm still waiting for a reply.
