Prep school Cheltenham or near?

We might be moving that direction and I am looking at Prep schools in the area. Ds and Dd are at a fab school at the moment and I would be reluctant to leave it, however ds is now in yr 6 and dd in year 2. I am not thinking of moving ds, he could weekly board if needs be. Looking for a prep school for dd - starting most likely in year 5 - or do you think that would be too late to move?

I cab only see chelt college or Dean close - both of which are obviously senior schools that we aren't really interested in for dd. What have I missed? Ideally a Co ed prep that goes up to year 8.

Thanks :)

Cheltenham College and Dean Close both have junior/prep schools as well as senior. There's also St Edward's (junior and senior).
Berkhamstead, The Richard Pate School and Airthrie all go from nursery to Y6, I think.

I've absolutely no personal experience of any of these schools so can't help you there.

Thank you Head, I will check those ones out. Do people go to prep schools attached to senior schools and not go to the senor part and move on?

I think the majority of those at Cheltenham College prep and Dean Close prep tend to continue on to the respective senior schools. There aren't any prep schools within Cheltenham that go to Y8 with no senior school attached.

Within Gloucestershire prep schools that go to Y8 with no attached senior are Hatherop Castle School and Beaudesert Park.
