I need to start thinking about secondary education ds.

Looking at independent schools in North London and I'm trying to find out about their strengths/weaknesses. I understand Habs is totally focused on academic work, great but rather brutal and not well rounded. Highgate, which is near, I've heard is rather more rounded and aimed at drawing out whatever of the kids particular talents/interest emerge. Mill Hill posh but not that driven. USC - haven't any idea!

I'd love to hear other opinions.

Have you been to any Open Days yet? :)

I would, personally, attend these before being swayed by individual opinions/hearsay. And try and take DS along to yours and his favourites after you've been to a few, so you can gauge his opinions.

Facilities and atmosphere vary so widely and each will suit different pupils' personalities and strengths. It's so subjective that you're best off seeing for yourself what is out there.
