Bhs are pretty good at doing different styles for different shapes, but don't know if they have a specific slim leg.

Do you mean tight with stretch like skinnies? Dd wanted those for school but everything I saw looked like jeans and despite what dd said, I wasn't sure the school would be happy. I got ordinary school trousers but narrowed the inside seam myself which made them much narrower/straighter but they still looked like school trousers rather than jeans iyswim. Dd was a bit happier with them anyway.

Meant to say it wasn't too difficult, but it's probably the sort of thing a local seamstress could easily do for you (and probably better than my attempt) if you didn't want to do it.

Have you tried Primark?

Zara sometimes has some choice in narrow trousers for boys. But they don't really do uniforms, so it is more a matter of luck finding the right cut/color!

My DS1 is really small and he has been wearing Next slimline (he sounds the exact same as your DS actually)

He is wearing age 10 ones though. They are very slim on him??

I was going to say the same as Banana - you sure the school will be happy with school trousers that aren't shaped like school trousers?

DS2 had thighs the size of my wrists at that age now the size of my forearm after some trial and error I buy JL "polywool" trousers for him. They are washed in the schools industrial washing machine and wear well and they're a bit thicker as well so warmer in the winter.

Have a look at M&S online - I got some for my 12 year old daughter last summer.

Most schools won't allow skinny-fit shaped school trousers, but you can get slimmer fitting ones by buying the next size down in a long, from M&S.

Although he is nearly 12, DS2 is the height of a 10 year old and has the waist size of a 9 year old. His trousers are size 9 long and fit fine.

I have a small very slim 12 year old DS and he wears Next slim fit size 11, which are a little too long, but otherwise fine.

i TRIED the next ones(caps on oops!), but they were very wide, even the slim fit ones were wider than the tesco ones he's wearing just now...I have ordered the skinny school trs from M&S, in a size smaller, am collecting them tomorrow will let you all know how I get on, they look very slim but tailored in the advert, just what I'm looking for ....

For a fit that works on a slim child, I have found that going 2 years down but onto extra long on the M&S range works.

DD is 11, the height of a 13-14 year old, but the waist size of a 9 year old. 10-11 extra long works on her with the waist pulled up quite a lot but not ludicrously.

BhS long in the age down works well for DS, but he has to wear 'normal' school trousers so they are not 'slim fit' as such, just look sensible on a slim build IYSWIM. The size a child of average build would wear look like clown's trousers on him.
