Anyone with experience of Beaumont School

We will be moving close to this school and I know they have a current year 10 place available so I am considering applying for Dd2. I can see it is a good school academic wise just wondered if anyone has/had any first hand experience with it. I would also be interested with regards to pastoral care and inclusion. If anyone has any experience of the school I would be grateful.

Hi Sky,
I used to teach there (years ago when I first started out), but a couple of the colleagues I worked with there are now in Senior Management at the school, and I have some contact with the Drama Department.
When I was there it was an excellent school, and I think, looking at it from a teacher's perspective (just through the people I know and the website, blog and twitter feed), that it's now even better. I'd LOVE my DC to go there if I was still in the area.
My DS1 (15) is considering Hertfordshire for his A Levels and I'm wondering whether to apply there.

Thanks I thought the same . However I read a post one here that is very old saying the pastoral care was not so good. I think we will have a look round.

It's a good school. We looked round quite recently. The girl that showed us round was lovely and the teachers I spoke to were enthusiastic. We live very close and I've never seen any concerning behaviour by the students on the way to or from school. My neighbour's son is a student and she speaks very highly of it.

The head put me off, she was pretty full of herself, but that is obviously a personal opinion. Definitely go and have a look round.
