We are looking for a good state 6th form for my son.
Has anyone any views on Chelsea academy.. They have a great ofstead report but it would be nice to get parents views.
Graveney seems really good but I do not like their dress policy for 6th form,I do feel this is just as important as education.
He is not a top student but above average.

One thing I would say is that your son is coming to an age where (unless he has severe SN) he needs to be far more actively involved in decisions affecting his future. Sixth form is only 2 years away from university, and then he will be totally on his own.

So it shouldn't be so much about what you think about things like dress code as about which school he thinks is most likely to help him further his plans.

He should (if at all possible) visit the schools that are possibilities and discuss his A-level choices etc with the respective tutors. Other things to discuss is how they prepare students for university, what kind of links they have with any relevant industry, how his predicted GCSE results would work out for any A-levels he has in mind.

btw it is normal for British sixth forms not to have any kind of school uniform- even the boarding school I visited 35 years ago didn't have that. Sixth fomers are treated very much as grown-ups and generally considered responsible for their own dress.

Sorry I can't help with the actual schools, not my part of the world.
