Tell me about your wonderful, or otherwise, secondary schools in Cornwall - state and private.

Thinking about moving from Kent down to somewhere near launceston - not sure on exact location as good secondary schools would be our prime criteria.

Thankyou

Plymouth have 3 state grammars. Devonport High School or Girls and Devonport High School for Boys and Plymouth High. Obviously there is the selection exams to pass etc.

Not Cornwall, I know, but many cornish children living close to the borders do go there.

We're in the Tamar Valley and the schools near us are Launceston College (which probably has the best reputation) and Community Colleges at Callington, Liskeard, Looe, Tavistock and Saltash. All these schools either have, or are about to, convert to academies.

I believe they are all OK, but if you compare results the Plymouth schools mentioned be kez are streets ahead.
