Is anyone else waiting for these results? Ds has worked really hard and I am hopeful but one of his subjects is philosophy, the first time they have offered it in his school and that the teaching and teachers marking has all gone to plan and that the students will achieve the right results.

I have DD1 waiting for 2 x AS paper results, and DD2 for a variety of GCSE modules. Am nervous, particularly for DD1, as although she did well at GCSEs, AS seems much harder and the Chemistry paper in particular she struggled with. She's been talking about resitting them both, still I suppose at least that's an option this year. Also think they are getting stricter with the marking / grade boundaries.

Yes we are waiting too- AS Maths ( 2 resits from last year) and A2 Chem and Maths modules plus French oral.
Lots of pressure - although not sure why as DD has not applied for uni this year. Just high expectations/demands on herself. Her teachers think she will have done fine though so fingers crossed!

Getting nervous here! DS1 has A2 results plus some AS resit results, and DS2 has some GCSE science module results. Stressy week in our house!

Yep, DS has some A2 results and an AS resit result on Thursday. Trying not to think about it too much at the moment.

Maddie, my DS resat S1 in jan, thought it went quite well. However, he thought he had a sure A for it last summer, and got a D!! I was so proud that I resisted reminding him this time! Grin

Hand holding with fingers crossed for everyone, esp those with A/A's AND gcse in the same house! That's very Shock. It doesn't help that here DS is also waiting to see if he has been short listed for head boy. he did his speech at the begining of the week 9 of them and the short list is also out on Thursday. It's going to be a long day I think.

DS1 waiting for Core 1 and 2 Maths and Mechanics, plus Physics, Chem and Biology AS modules. He was super confident after the exams but is gradually getting wobblier.

Wobblier - great word!! Good luck all, please post back tomorrow!

Secret - that's a lot of modules! Does your DS school take the complete A2 maths over 1 year?

This is it. Hold on to your hats and brace for the fall out if it's true about the swingeing grade boundary cuts.

Well, things haven't gone entirely to plan in the Soprano household Sad

Mixed results

DS got A for physics A for Decision Maths and E for Mechanics,

We know exactly what wrong, he spent so much time worrying about decision, he didnt spend time on mechanics which he was more confident in.

Waiting here too, for results in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry and History. Son says they won't get them until lunchtime - I suspect that's not true and he's just buying himself a couple of hours' grace before he tells us! Good luck everyone.

Oh no Isingsoprano, hope it's recoverable to whatever is needed with a replan.

No idea when or if dd will tell me hers, we both know they will be below target. Well done to all who have met theirs.

Oh Bruffin, thats hard for him.
Results heer were given out at first break. Ds very pleased, he got A in Gov and Pol, and A in Philosophy. He is devestated though for a number of his friends who have worked very hard and have good class and homework results. They were expected A's maybe, high B's and got C's and even a E :-( Well done to those who got what they wanted and good luck to those with a plan.
PS Thanks to Ds teachers, my fears were allayed.
