I thought I would start this tradition once again while we all wait? DS only sat Trinity...

Missed the postman somehow and sauntered down (we live in a flat) to the postbox after shouting out of the window to the postie to hurry up. There was the letter all folded up at the bottom of the box. He's been offered a place for 10+ at T with a bursary. Didn't apply for scholarship so very pleased. Just have to work out if there's anyway we can afford to do it now. What's the going rate for a kidney?! Congrats and commiserations to all who have shared their news so far. This thread has been a real help. Good luck to those still waiting - I'll be checking in all day to keep up to date with news.

Kylep Fri 15-Feb-13 12:08:05

So so proud of my ds got offers from both places :-))

kimalima Fri 15-Feb-13 12:08:36

Who else is T 11+... anyone?

My son should really be in the 10+ camp but little bugger decided to come a month early! So has always been the youngest in the year. But it doesn't matter now as he is in! grin

Good luck those still waiting for posties.
And more importantly those still trying to do the sums which must be so difficult.

PopcornPizza Fri 15-Feb-13 12:08:38

Oh my goodness, scholarships to both!!!!!! Stunned, amazed, thrilled, so happy!!!!

Marni23 Fri 15-Feb-13 12:12:37

Popcornpizza that is fantastic!! Well done to your DS. Which will you choose?!

Marni23 Fri 15-Feb-13 12:13:19

Sorry, and kylep and racer girl

Croydonmumtods Fri 15-Feb-13 12:25:53

Kima - yes big dilemma but I'm not complaining. Ds started off favouring T but as process went on started to switch to W and has stuck with that. Can't make a wrong decision really both godd schools.

Croydonmumtods Fri 15-Feb-13 12:29:07

Sorry missed the latest posts. Well done Racegirl KyleP and Popcorn.

PopcornPizza Fri 15-Feb-13 12:34:43

Well done croydonmumtods, kima, racegirl, kylep, FAB news! Good luck to all still waiting. I'm going to run round the block a few times to see if that helps me come back down to earth!

Croydonmumtods Fri 15-Feb-13 12:37:12

Popcorn - already tried that it dosnt work!! I just keep rereading the letters in case I got it wrong! Which is your preference.

Somelikeithott Fri 15-Feb-13 12:50:59

My turn to report, good news. Offers with scholarships from both schools. Really thrilled for DS, will take his letters on school run for him to read himself. Post came about 1 hour ago, opened them with trembling hands.

Suz, well done to your DS, he and you should be proud of him. Kima, Croydon mum, julep, popcorn & racegirl, well done & congrats to your DSs. Sorry if I missed anyone out.

Croydonmumtods Fri 15-Feb-13 12:53:46

Congratulations somelikeithot. Good luck to all still waiting.

Brownsugar3879 Fri 15-Feb-13 12:54:49

Good news here too. There's a letter for DS which obviously I've opened but closed it nicely so he can open it himself after school. smile

Brownsugar3879 Fri 15-Feb-13 13:06:07

Are scholarships 50% for those who's got them? T is cheaper than W and on league tables both GCSE & A's, T is on top. I'm now trying to weigh options and compare the two schools. Anyone out there to share their opinion?

Somelikeithott Fri 15-Feb-13 13:16:01

Congratulations Brownsugar well done to your DS.

Somelikeithott Fri 15-Feb-13 13:19:02

Sorry just read my previous post. That was meant to read kylep, ( not julep). Must be the trembling hands......

Zato Fri 15-Feb-13 13:33:17

We have found the postman !!! On the upside DS has an offer from T and W smile Downside both are full fees sad

W have enclosed fees for next year at £16,359. Anyone know full fees for T next year ?

Thanks and good luck to all those still waiting.

Kylep Fri 15-Feb-13 13:36:13

Thanks guys so proud of my little master

Somelikeithott Fri 15-Feb-13 13:40:34

Well done to your DS Zato, sorry I don't know the answer to your question. But I imagine the proportion of increase would be the same since they are part of the same foundation.

NotADragonOfSoup Fri 15-Feb-13 13:44:01

Well done to all the successes smile

I can't find the T fees for 2013-14 anywhere online. I don't remember being told what they're going to be either.

FatalFlowerGarden Fri 15-Feb-13 13:44:24

Omg, you are all getting such great results! grin

just hoping that the law of averages doesn't mean disaster for ds!

Brownsugar3879 Fri 15-Feb-13 13:51:48

Thanks guys. Has anyone been offered bursary? It's about £13 for T

Brownsugar3879 Fri 15-Feb-13 13:53:24

I meant £13k

NotADragonOfSoup Fri 15-Feb-13 14:00:10

For 2012-13 it was £13,056.

JohnnyT Fri 15-Feb-13 14:00:43

Got great news on W! I loved the way that the school addressed my DS. It showed a nice touch although of course wasn't really that personalized. Of course, now my DS is lobbying us to attend, despite the higher fees! I was very nervous after he bombed the test for his "safety" school so didn't have sky-high expectations.
