We are looking at a house nearish to this school as DD will be going into yr 6 in Sep so secondary schools are on the horizon. I have fallen in love with the house (on line grin) but it's about 3 km by foot from the school. I have checked Kingston school admissions and we would have got in this year and last but not the one before. I noticed the catchment area was a lot larger this year. Is there a reason for that? I believe this is generally considered a good school and we are in part moving for better schools. I don't want to move if the school is going downhill as it were. Also, should we be looking to be closer as 3kms is quite far from the school and from what I can gather the years prior to the last two, you had to be a lot closer so maybe these are fluke years.

I am turning into one of those women I said I never would who just go on and on about schools all the time shock

I have a dd at the school, and it's definitely not going down!
Catchment varies so much due to siblings and just how many yr 6 girls live close to the school.
It's very pm me for more info.

Thank you. We went to see the house today and it turned out to be much closer to the A3 than I had anticipated so is off the list due to road noise. Shame a it was brilliant in terms of size. However, given what you have said I think we need to look closer to the school anyway. It would be a smaller house but a better location. I love the houses round there and the train service into London and given the school is good NM is a contender.

Also have a DD at the school. Definitely not going down, quite the reverse! In fact, increasing numbers of families are putting Tiffin Girls as second choice after Coombe, as a back up in case they do not live close enough to Coombe to get a place. It is simply a lovely school and seems set to only get better.

The last two years would appear to be fluke years and i would definitely not rely on this carrying on. May be due to the mix of boys and girls in y6 recently or siblings admissions, as Mrsrd said. Do pm her, she knows loads about the school. If i were you I would not buy a house much over 1km from the school to be on the safe side.

Hi to Mrsrd! grin
