Does anyone know how this list is moving (if at all)? And if it is moving, how is that done when we keep being told that the boys are not currently placed in any order on the list??

If you type "Eton 2014" into the search box (above right) I think you'll find a thread about this.

Good luck.

Jeggy I'm afraid that I cannot tell anything about 2014 entry, but I do have some experience of the waiting list.

From this I can tell you that you will probably not get anything meaningful about the order of the list until September 2013 at the earliest. I guess they make some sort of attempt at putting the boys in order when they see the summer exam results.

We spoke to Admissions the September before DS was due to start and got quite a lot of feedback at that time. We also received a letter that December giving us a further update.

Our DS was eventually promoted from the waiting list in March this year, and started in September - so it can be a long wait I'm afraid. I feel for you and know how hard it is waiting. I wish you the best of luck.

A few years ago i attended a talk at my DS prep about given by Eton on its admission process. Unfortunately the whole thing was dominated by a father whose DS was on the waiting and absolutely busting a gut keen to get him off it. So I feel a bit of an expert on this subject!!! Apparently you have to notify Eton on a regular basis about your DS's successes, captain of the 1st 15, major role in school play, picked to do reading at carol service/remembrance day service, captain of general knowledge team blah blah blah and even better fantastic results in termly exams and major role in school play and glowing end of term report and helping homeless at Christmas all at the same time . Your head should also be doing this and also making sure your DS does get these opportunities.
