East London Science School taking Year 7 applications for 2013

I'm a parent-shortly-to-be living in the East End of London. I'm also on the steering committee of East London Science School. While it might be a little early for me I encourage parents to take a look at our Prospectus. We are taking Applications for places now for entry to Year 7 in September 2013 and will continue to take applications until Spring 2013. We will be meeting parents and pupils across the East End over the next few months to ensure everyone has a chance to hear about our unique and exciting school. We will be choosing a preferred permanent site for the school in the next few weeks and this will hopefully be made public in the run up to Christmas.

The new school, which is the brainchild of Tower Hamlets resident David Perks, a Physics Teacher with more than 25 years experience in the state sector, aims to deliver a high quality academic education to all pupils 11-18 regardless of ability. The school will offer a broad curriculum including English, Classics, Modern languages, Sport, and Music with a special focus on the provision of the Sciences and Mathematics. Unusually for a school in the state sector, all of its pupils will be offered the opportunity to study all three sciences until the age of 16 regardless of their ability.

Wherever it is I envy east London. Mr perks has been a brilliant teacher at my daughters' school and I am sure his school will be excellent.

He does come across well from a youtube clip I saw. I can't believe he manages to make physics interesting...

Thanks for the comments mums. We really don't know where we'll be yet, still busy reviewing our sites. I'll keep you posted. Of course Physics is interesting!
