Coed ind in London - Highgate and Latymer Upper?

Our ds was offered a reserve place at Highgate and Latymer Upper for 2012. I sense there will be lots of movement this week so we are trying to decide which side to push for! Just wondering if anyone out there is specifically seeking a co-ed ind secondary in London for their dc and came upon some useful insights into either of these two. We are quite split for a variety of reasons - especially as the commute to either is about the same (although neither commute is particularly close both are do-able!) and they both appear to be thriving since the move to co-education a few years back.

Turnip - if you're wavering, why not go and have another look at each school? My DC are at Highgate (very happily) but I have no experience of Latymer. On a further visit, there may be just something that springs out and helps you decide.

Bumping on behalf of another poster Yesbutnobut (just because its busy time on MN and have vague interest in one of those schools).

Good advice to the OP.

I trust FT's rankings the most - Latymer Upper came 25th in the independent schools table this year regarding both A level results and GCSE results. It was the top co-ed school apart from the Perse School in Cambridge - which I think is absolutely brill. Their facilities are fantastic - just as good as St Paul's etc, and in 2012 they got 50 people into Oxbridge. Latymer Upper is one to watch!!!
