Are there any physics teachers in the house? DS wants to do physics at uni, but his school are introducing this new syllabus. It basically seems to be looking at various contecxts and applying physics to them. It all sounds a bit 'progressive' to me.Will it disadvantage him

I'm a science teacher, not physics though. The salters courses are generally considered 'harder' and well respected by universities.
Should be an advantage to him.
