School recording calls

Just wondered if anyone had come across a school taping calls? When I ring my child's school there is a message saying that "calls may be recorded for monitoring purposes"; I wonder if this means all calls are recorded? The reason I ask is that I complained to the school recently because a member of the admin staff was exceptionally rude to me on the phone and I wondered what the actual position was about requesting transcripts or recordings? The school are dragging their feet over replying to me.
Thanks

its because of the old age 'abusive parent'.....

You should be able to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act. You'll probably have to pay a nominal fee (about £10 or so).

Suggest you make request sooner rather than later in case they don't keep tapes for long .

what does "old age 'abusive parent ' " mean ?

basically the type of parent that phones and calls every person who has had contact with their child every name under the sun, threatens to 'do them in' etc because little Jonny was told off for not having a pen........

how and why as a member of the admin staff "exceptionally rude" to you?

If she was exceptionally rude they'll have evidence then won't they?!!

What's the problem? Surely you have perfectly polite phone calls, what exactly is your worry with this?
