Polmadie Car Boot Sale - has anybody been?

I need to sell Stuff.
There is too much Stuff in this house.
There is even more Stuff in the garage.
I cannot be bothered with ebay/Gumtree and the likes.

So, I thought, I know: car boot sale. Rock up, put Stuff out, get Stuff sold, go home and count my riches.

Is that how it works?
Any experiences of Polmadie (indoor i.e. dry!), as a buyer or a seller, greatly appreciated Smile

I've never done polmedie but I have done blochairn, you need to go very early (middle of the night to get in line for a place)
But I went home with a lot of my things and ebayed anyway, as people literally expected things for nothing. I had brand new baby clothes (all timberland, ted baker, mayoral etc) a lot still had tags on and people were saying that £1 was too much!
If it's general household stuff you have to get rid of I would recommend the Clyde valley car boot, I haven't been but hear it's much better.
If you have a lot of baby and kids clothes toys etc then might be better doing a jack and Jill market. HTH

Oh, thank you, VK, any info is helpful tbh.

Your experience does not sound brilliant…
It's mainly kids' stuff, some woman's clothes (good brands, some BNWT etc), and I am not doing it so much for the money as that I cannot bear seeing it go to a charity shop - not sure why Hmm. Also, the kids would like to sell some of their old toys, for money natch, but I'd rather not spend the time and stress if it's all going to come to nothing, For their sakes, as much as mine.
I might just go to Polmadie (it's quite conveniently located for us) and get a feel for the place before I decide whether to go as a seller.

Polmadie is not great. Lots of shady people looking for real bargains. Really nasty atmosphere. Better to go to Stirling or Lanark. Lanark is quite cheap, a much nicer experience and you make more money too.
