DP, toddler DS & I are going on holiday to Argyll soon & I was wondering if anyone could suggest anything good to do around there? Already thinking the Gruffalo trail at Ardkinglass, Inverary jail, Knapdale forest. Anything else? Thanks!

If you are in Inverary. Then there is the castle & it's gardens, also the Loch Fyne Oyster bar is worth a visit. Auchindrain township might also be worth a visit. There are also loads of beautiful beaches for when the sun shines my memories of this area are centred around family holidays at Strachur , but ask a local for recommendations when you get there, hope you have a fab holiday.

Is it Mid-Argyll/North Argyll you're sticking to OP?

You can get the sea safari from Portavadie. Plus there's the Portavadie leisure centre with outdoor heated infinity pool and hot tubs!!

We also hired bikes from there and did a couple of trails. Very beautiful. Deserted beaches nearby.

Mull is stunning if you're heading Oban way, and Oban itself a nice place with leisure centre and nice child friendly cafes. Also my toddler and baby loved the ferry ride so any boat trips are fun at that age (make sure you wrap up though as the winds can be brutal we learnt during an otherwise sunny day out!).

I love that part of the world. Enjoy!
