Not a penny for his legal expenses. Grin

And the two-faced lying fuckwit wanted punitive damages, against his own constituents.

it would be great if this made a real dent in his finances but I dont think it will, or his party will bail him out. But still, he is a lying fuckface. I dont know how he has the brass neck to hold onto his job.

I also don't know how's hes got the brass neck to carry on. I was delighted with today's judgment. He's such a lying slimy bastard.

i think the whole thing is quite funny. Caught red handed peddling outright shite but manages to squiggle out it because the judge wasnt convinced that mps telling lies is legally wrong. Im sure he'll just be cashing in on his mps salary for the next 4 years. id be surprised if he stood again.

I'm confused, one report said his costs were estimated at £50-80k, another said £150k. Yet the Orkney Four had to fundraise over £200k for theirs. Confused

i found it confusing too. somewhere i read (cant remember) said something along the lines of it would be over £200k but carmichael got the first bit of it paid for by (about £80k) but he would have to foot the rest of the bill himself.

www.gofundme.com/yh3pe7nc His crowdfunding has so far raised £14,595... A report in the Guardian estimates his costs at £150k, and those of the Four at £185k. IIRC the Four pushed for more fundraising in case they had to pay his costs, so there's a nice chunk of dosh left over for foodbanks. Grin

im actually surprised he managed to raise even £14,595! I wonder if it would bankrupt him? £150k bill would certainly bankrupt me without a doubt lol. Im sure i read somewhere there are some rules or regulations that mean you cant be an MP if you are made bankrupt or enter an IVA.

www.parliament.uk/get-involved/elections/standing/

He can't stand for an election if he's bankrupt, not sure if that means he'd have to stand down in the event of sequestration.

I doubt that sum would bankrupt him, though. He's been a well-paid MP for 15 years, I'm pretty sure he'll have plenty stashed away. Still gotta hurt, though. Grin
