Oct hols direct destinations?

Hello, I'm thinking about going abroad doing a package in the school October holidays, but want to fly direct from Scotland.

Any suggestions for destinations? Wanting t-shirt weather but not hot, and not turkey, Egypt. Are the canaries our only option?
Many thanks

I put the same question on my FB last week and the Canaries was pretty much the answer as we're only able to get away for a week. Some folks said Mexico but it's too much and too far for us for 7 nights.

I'm going dizzy looking at holiday sites.

I think anywhere in spain, Barcelona downwards will be tshirt weather most days in october (maybe 19/20 degrees). Valencia will be lovely. Malaga will still be very warm. Canaries too obviously, but canaries are a safe bet year round. Mainland spain youll probably get better deals for the holidays

cyprus will still be warm in october you would be looking at high 20s low 30s bit cooler at night tho

we were in Cyprus in the 2015 October hold...first couple of days low 30s then mid 20s for rest of the week. that's not unusual so it might be a bit hotter than you want

I've been to Majorca in the October school week and apart from one day of rain it was lovely. Warm, swimming in the sea etc

Ryanair fly to Italy all year certainly to Rome & possibly Pisa, you might not be able to a full week though.

Oh yes we went to Cyprus one October holiday. Flew home in flip flops to scrape frost off the car in Glasgow never again However I didn't enjoy that holiday at all so won't be rushing back to Cyprus Confused

Marrakech. Easyjet on Tuesday and Saturday from Glasgow. We stayed at the Adama Resort which was brilliant for the children (teens) and it was outside the centre but with a free bus in so you don't need a car hire.c

We went to Salou last October. It was tshirt weather although did rain one day. Warm enough for the pool though.
You can fly from Glasgow, there were loads of Scots there

Kids get 2weeks, then the Monday, Tuesday as Inservice.........

Apparently they won't be going back in 2017 until the 9th Jan!!!

I'm thinking we can be away for a week as will need a night either side of the holiday before we get flights to the islands home.

Flights with Ryanair to Carcassone, very warm this year when we were there.

we flew to carcassonne this october and stayed around that area, although not actually carcassone. More foothills of pyrennees. it wasnt particularly warm. It was beautiful though, but not tshirt weather

We travelled slightly further east towards Montpellier direction, and it was 22/23 everyday, perfect for me as I don't like it too hot, t shirt during the day, cardigan and light jacket needed at night though.

We did travel that way too actually. It was a road trip for the first half of the week, and we went right over into herault. I think the beginning of october was hotter, but we went middle of october, and it was about 14/15 degrees most days, with the odd rainy day, and was pretty bloody cold at night and in the mornings.
I think south of france CAN be warm or even hot in october, but you cant rely on it, and the october half term is right at the end isnt it. Not saying I wouldnt recommend it, because its lovely, but its not a sunshine holiday in oct

I've been to Salou and Majorca in the October break from Glasgow (flights to Barcelona are cheaper than those to Reus for Salou by some way, you can get a coach directly to Salou at the airport or take the train).

It has always been lovely weather, but I did get a funny look from a Spanish Mum who was walking her little boy on the beach. He was dressed in wellies and a coat, my dc were in swimwear! It was in double figures still and warm for my children, but obviously not warm if you lived there.

I looked at Canaries last October and it was dearer than summer holidays £1800 for 4 flights. We don't do packages so can't comment on those.
Where are you that you get all that off, we only get one week, North Lanarkshire, I'd kill for that break for more choice.

Thank you for all your ideas, after much research we decided on looking into Barcelona & Salou in detail. Then the "d"h decided to check his rota for exact dates & discovers he's actually offshore and got mixed up........

Off to google ideas for Easter or summer.... Ffs!

Aw I wish OP - DH is definitely working the Easter fortnight and the entire summer Angry. He usefully gets 19 days off in...June. Since the dcs and I are all in school then, it's bloody useless.

That's rubbish Tilliebob, it's so difficult with school holidays. I think I'm giving up on going abroad - it's just too expensive compared to the October holidays, especially when I add flights to get us to the mainland :(

Don't know about October but Dubrovnik, Nice and Berlin were all t-shirt weather in September. Dubrovnik and Nice were swim in the sea weather.
