Well, not quite but it's been a long time coming.

Was working FT and life was so chaotic - and after a bit of a stress build up we've made the decision I'm going to be on hand at home.

Looking to do freelance at some point but not to detriment of being here for DCs 4 and 2.

Hello. It must be a fairly major downshift in pace for you! My friends who work FT can't believe that sometimes me and dcs are sometimes still pottering about in pjs at 9.30.

Hello there Where is the cheery wave emoticon? DD3 has a major Lego project under way on the floor. She says she NEEDS me to sit here and supervise.

Just in from the supermarket, dinner on and having a tea break waiting for older dds to arrive home from school. It's an OK life.

I've recently made a similar decision OP, and I finish my full time job on Thursday of this week!

I've been here for 9 years and feel a bit apprehensive about being officially 'unemployed'. DD is 16 months so maternity leave is recent enough for me to remember that it's hard work at times being at home full time but I cannot wait to back at home full time :)

I had a moment on maternity leave with Ds1 where I needed to post a letter and set off with him in the pram. I walked at my usual pace and then suddenly realised why the hell was I rushing to the post box? I had all the time in the world to enjoy being outdoors with my baby and nothing to rush back for. It was bliss.

I was so used to rushing here there and everywhere trying to fit everything in I forgot that I wasn't rushing off somewhere after the post box run. That was 12 years ago. I have been a SAHM for 11 years. I love "toddler" pace. Nice, slow and relaxed.
