Hi all.
This is my first post, I have read other posts on here before and found it to offer some really valuable advice.
I'm a dad to a 3 1/2 old son and a 6 month old daughter.
We currently have our house on the market in North Bolton with a plan to move out of the area and to head further north, I work in Manchester so needs to be commutable. I want the best for the kids in the long term, schools, nice family areas to live, countryside. Hoping for this to a long term move so the kids will be settled happy make good friends and for us to make friends too. We are both turning 35. We don't have the biggest budget in the world.
any thoughts really appreciated.
Thanks
Stew

Fylde coast: Knott End, Pilling, Glasson are all very pretty places & rural too!

To commute, you're far better near the M6. We are near Carnforth on a park home site, which is also a cheaper way to live. My OH used to commute to Rochdale 3 times a week and it took just over an hour on most days. Lots of people from north Manchester and Bolton either live or have a holiday home here and you're close to Morecambe, Blackpool, the lakes and with the motorway and direct trains to Manchester, it's perfect. Crime is low and there are good schools around (OH now works at Dallam School, where Tim Farron's kids go.
