Dh & I want to dabble in some internet porn - don't slag me off - just need some advice

Dh and I want to explore some internet porn on a site that we have found - all consenting adults, etc. There is a facility to download films if you pay a certain amount: one small sum for 3 day 'membership' and then another to join for a month. If we did one of these and paid on credit card, a)would it be traceable and obvious by anyone knowing what they were looking for on our pc? b)would it show up on our credit card/bank statement? c) is what we're doing illegal? WE are both responsible adults, doing a bit of experimenting but I am a bit nervous about using the internet, although it seems a good alternative to having vids lying about the house. Please don't slag me off. If porn's not your thing, then just ignore this. I'm not a perv.

Don't see how anyone could have a problem with this-as long as there are no animals or kids involved!
Your payment would show up,but I doubt the company would call themselves something like 'Horny Lezzie Babes' . No doubt something anodyne like Emac International or something.

thanks moondog. I've seen some heated discussions on mumsnet recently on porn - I understand some people do have a problem with it and have good reasons, but, like you say, as long as it's just consenting adults involved, each to their own. Is it illegal?

I would be more concerned about who you are giving credit card details to. Also you can pick up lots of viruses ( I don't mean STD's) from these sites. Worms are also a problem, thats when a page opens and when you close it an other opens and so on until you are up to your ears in porn pages.

Make sure you have good pop-up and virus protection, these need to be updated regularly!! Make sure you know how to clear out your history and temp internet files so when others use computer they don't see where you've been, most net nanny type things prevent veiwing the sites but sometimes the web addreses say it all .

If you just want movies send hubby to the a dodgy newsagent or even some motorway service stations have some "interesting" DVD's beside the mags.

God I sound like an expert I am not a perv honest

yes, it would be traceable by anyone who knew how to look on your pc, yes, it would show up on your cc statement as something fairly harmless, BUT you may end up paying more than you bargained for, and then find it hard to trace the company. That's what happened to a freind of mine. They bank on people being too embarrassed to pursue a complaint.

Get a reccomendation for a 'reliable' site?

Get a dvd and keep it properley hidden away from the kids?

God knows who had this laptop, but when I press 'Favourites',the first thing that comes up is 'Adult Sites' and believe me,there's an eclectic selection (and I'm so knackered by two small kids that I haven't even checked them out properly lol!!!)

my mates dp has had over £1500 woth of debits from his credit card to porn companies and he has never bought porn over the net. He did use his cc for something, but the porn site scanned his details and hence the missing money.... jsut a warning. I would personally rather my DH went and bought a cheapy DVD - much more fun in my opinion.

I would be very wary of putting credit card details in, you may not end up with what you bargained for. In the trial of someone being done for child porn their defense was that they had paid for something seemingly legal, adult and consenting, only to start receiving child stuff. Now it may have been that they were a paedophile, and this was just their attempt to get off the charges, but it may also have been true. I wouldnt risk it. There are a number of free sites around.

If you just want to look at picks and not visit sites use the image search on Yahoo. Great for some inspiration before bed. Just remember to switch back on the parental controls. All this advise and I can't stop DH browsing dodgy sites .

Redcheeks, if you want internet porn use the sights of the big companies. Playboy, Hustler, etc. They are secure and legit.

Personally I prefer our local sexshop for dvds. I pay cash so no worries about credit card fraud, no favourites, cookies or viruses to worry about. Unless of course I get a bit excited and give myself a blister! Sorry about that last joke!!

Do any of these places take paypal? Because with paypal, they don't get your cc number, and they can't take more money than you authorise ...

You can lay yourself open to all kinds of unwanted downloads if you go into the pay areas of some of these sites. A friend of mine was sent to prison for looking at pornographic images of children. He doesn't remember ever seeing any and out of something like 16,000 images on his computer the police could only mention 4 of children so it should be patently obvious it wasn't something he was in the habit of doing but stuff that had popped up. All he did was what you're proposing to do. As soon as you enter credit card details the police can trace your activities and can prosecute you for having images you didn't even know were there. I wouldn't touch those sites with a bargepole.

I'd also like to mention that my ex, the father of my eldest two children runs sites like this and 'allowed' my eldest daughter to 'find out' when she was just 11. This resulted in a lengthy and very expensive contact battle in court (which culminated in his losing all contact) and my dd's long depression and suicide attempt. Do you really want to finance people like my ex? They are scum.

Have you considered the possibility of your children accidentally coming across this material on your computer? Once you begin to dabble, as has been said, these sites are often riddled with viruses, worms etc and unsuitable material can attach itself to folders in your computer where you wouldn't expect to find it.

This is not a simple matter. The laws governing videos, magazines and other 'conventional' forms of porn do not work on the www. They cannot make laws fast enough to keep up with the technology so lots of things that should be illegal are not. This is mainly the law regarding what people can put on their websites. You can end up breaking the law by viewing an image when the person who put the image on the net is not actually breaking the law themself. It's mad. I wouldn't get involved.

If i were you and you have sky tv - it would probably be better to subscribe to one of their "specialist" channels. You do have to give credit card details but i am sure it would be more secure than the internet

you can then dump it if you get worried about whats on it. they are very cheap now, a few hundred quid!
