Got a new fella in my life, we've been to bed, something's bothering me...

When (ahem), I'm doing things to him and at the moment of big pleasure (if you get my drift) he utters such words as: 'oh gosh, golly gosh, oh flip' and at the high point, I got an: "oh sugar".

I find this a terrible turn off, it's like being in bed with Billy Bunter, what would you do?

Also, I've noticed that he talks about his mother in almost every sentence... should alarm bells be ringing?

Got to dash to work now but will check in later, please offer me some advice, I've been out of the dating game for ages and may be a bit rusty, but is this normal for a grown man?

p.s. regular mn here, just name changed (hope it works, cringe)

Does his name begin with a J?

Report
Celery · 29/09/2009 08:08

Does he use these words and phrases when he's not in bed, or are they reserved only for those occasions?

Right, at work now!

Well, I didn't laugh as I thought it might encourage him, I kind of stopped in my tracks and asked myself if I'd heard correctly, but when he came out with more 'goshes' and the like, I (cringe, cringe) stoped him talking by doing something to keep him occupied!

I thought the sooner we get this cone then the "cripes" will stop. God, that sounds awful!

He does use these words in other situations, I've only just noticed after the boudoir utterances, there's a lot of 'sugars' and 'gosh' in fact, I don't think I've heard him swear at all...

He talks about his mother, no exagerration, all the time. No matter what we're talking about... e.g. he said he'd take me for dinner, I said 'ohh, to a nice little restaurant' and he said: "Well, I take my mother to x, y and z, so probably we'll go there...' and another time we were in bd on a Sunday morning, when he started telling me about (this is really bad), when he bought his house, his mother was asking him why he was buying a double bed, not a single one...

Umm, this doesn't bode well at all, does it!

She is mentioned in just about everything, in all situations, I've not met her, nor do I wish to - previous overbearing MIL is immediately springing to mind!

Daisy - nope, his name doesn't begin with a J - have you met a similar sort here - what did you do?!

I like the Prince Charles analagy - frightningly close to the mark. Oh dear.

Sorry, that was a really long reply, it's jsut so good to talk about it!

FPlease help me, I really don't know what to do - will he snap out of it, or is he going to make me into his mother?

I'm sure he is a really lovely man, and he obviously enjoys your intentions - but I'm not sure I could live with this!

My ex husband was a bit too close to his mother for my liking. She seemed to have the final say in any decisions we might have made. And he wanted me to be just like her - all Laura Ashley, baking and needlework by the fireside. In fact he gave me an ultimatum - I had to behave like a "proper wife" or leave! I was gone within a week! He was actually surprised by this!

"attentions"!!!!! I guess he doesn't know your "intentions"

Report
toopolite · 29/09/2009 09:26

Yep, Korma - that's exactly what I wnt to hear!

I just think he'll find it impossible to, it's not his way, he would go: "Oh flip" instead of oh f**k (disclaimer: using asterisk as at work, not because I'm averse to the lovely f-word - i'm actually a filthy mouthed sort and I do wonder why he is dating me.

If I have to say "stop golly goshing" to him, I'll sound like his mother! aaarrrgh!!!!!

Perhaps if he can't swear, you could just explain to him that incoherent sounds of passion are preferable. I'd rather a grunt than a 'golly' TBH.

oh god, Portofino! Gone within the week!!! I shouldn't laugh, it's just the way you tell it!

Yep - I have let rip with the filth and smut to him, but he just probably thinks I'm a brazen young filly and he just goes: "Oh gosh, etc".

I know this should be on the Friday night slot, but here's something sorry for the TMI... (fill in the gaps, I'm at work and don't want IT to intercept this) I whispered to him: "I want you to F me with your big, hard, C, F me, F me!" and he said back: "You have a nice lady foof" I pretended he hadn't said it.

I think that next time, I'm really, and I mean REALLY go for it and just see what happens.

PMSL at lady foof! I'd be in hysterics, sorry!

Report
toopolite · 29/09/2009 09:42

Um, well, it's been a while since I've had any action, so I thought I wasn't going to call a halt to proceedings and ask if I'd heard correctly

If I say to him: "talk dirty" he really may not know what to say.

Surely when at the point of no return and he's about to hit the heights of pleasure, when he said: "oh flip" he is either showing restraint at a time when he should be free of it all, or else, it is completely natural response for him, rather than to say: "ooooh, yeah" or suchlike?
