That Toxic Parents Book

Can anyone tell me if the book is any good for someone who is still angry with a long dead parent?

My DM is in her 60s and although her Mother has been dead since 1984 she is still incredibly angry with her. She seems to be spending more and more time 'reflecting' on her miserable childhood and miserable adulthood, much of it caused by my grandmothers emotional blackmail, manipulation and controlling behaviour. Her interference in my parent's marriage and my upbringing was horrendous. My Dad is now dead, as is my Granddad, neither of whom stood up to her so she feels lots of resentment about being let down all round and no one to vent to - apart from me, which is fine.

We realise now that her Mother had mental health issues but that doesn't help my Mum come to terms with things and stop obsessing about what she and others should've/could've done.

She won't consider counselling so I was hoping the book might be a good place to start. I have mentioned it to her and she said she would read it which is encouraging.

Thanks

yes I think so.

Some of the case studies are about people whose parents are dead but are still coping with the issues.
