Does anyone else find alcohol is a turn off these days?

when dh and i got together i was drunk, very drunk. Alcohol acting as a 'social lubricant' etc.

now i find if (and it's very rare that this happens these days) i do get drunk I really don't fancy 'doing it' - no focus, just want to go to sleep, happier doing it in the morning etc etc.

am i a misery guts? does anyone else feel like this? dh is disappointed whenever we go away for the night - am happy to indulge in afternoon delight etc, but give me half a bottle of wine and i'm noone's.

Don't drink then if you fancy a shag?

Don't drink? Or don't fancy a shag?

I always joke that I'm a cheap date - one drink and I'm swinging from the chandeliers. Dh can't quite decide whether I'm too cheap, or not cheap enough, because if he doesn't pounce while the chandelier is swinging, or if I have a second drink, then there's no way he'll get any action from me that night.

I've never been a great drinker, and since having children my tolerance seems to have disappeared.

If you want to combine alcohol and sex, try using your bellybutton .

i don't drink when i fancy a shag! the problem being that when we go away for a break, i fancy a drink, but not the shag. dh disappointed by this. he is the exact opposite of me and gets the horn when he's drunk.

i should have name changed for this.

yes, i was curious re the belly button option....not sure dh will not be disappointed by that too....though it is much deeper than pre-ds....
hf - see, it's all or nothing though, really. i'm more wondering if other people feel the same as me...we've kind of reached a solution - do it before dinner, or in the morning...i just wonder if i'm the only one - plus in my 20s it was a different story! still that was also pre ds..

My advice would be do it when it suits you (as in don't buy into stories that everyone is doing it all the time). So if away in a hotel (if you want) use the morning.

I'm exactly the same - can't bear sex after drink, me or him. However when I was younger I could drink all evening and then happily have drunken uninhibited sex. Now I find that it seems to dull all sensation and I find it much harder to orgasm, it also takes him longer too by which time I just want to zzzzzzzz. Sober sex much more fun. The only problem with this scenario is that DH is only sober about 3 nights a week. But that is another thread.
