.....withdrawal that is if you see what i mean. Slightly worried as period is a little late. Dh claims he knew exactly what he was doing but is it possible to get pregnant before they actually you know what. Don't want any more kids but i think he secretly would have liked more.... help???

Well, if we have, I think it might just be OK to have it again.
I'll watch this thread with interest - we're in the same situation

I have a small, noisy, messy person in the next room that can prove it isn't safe, iykwim...

withdrawal is a shite method of contraception, didn't they teach you that at school? So yes, you could very easily be pregnant.

paolosgirl indeed, you would think at 40 i would know these things

mmmmmm, it not foolproof is it?? I don't have an exampl of withdrawal but I have a silly throwaway night example...

DH and I have used withdrawal for the past 2.5 years with no accidents. It is the least relaible form of contraception though.

The difference is that although we weren't planning more children, it wouldn't have been bad news if I'd have gotten pregnant, whereas you say that you don't want anymore kids, so I do think you need to find a more permanent or reliable form of contraception.

ok sorry if TMI but I always thought men 'leaked' a bit before they fully 'came' which would make it unsafe.

was it the only time you did it like this??

I'm 'only' 36 - can't really be expected to know these things at my age! More

think it's about 75% effective - so better than nothing, but not safe enough to rely on for family planning!

I'm surprised how many people on here use the withdrawal method. I would never trust it...my dh would never be able to withdraw at that moment

I don't want any more kids so I have a coil fitted and we use condoms. I'm not taking any chances. My last baby was due to an out of date condom and he is a little terror...I'm taking no chances this time!!!

Paolosgirl - How late are you???

Report
paolosgirl · 22/04/2005 13:52

A few days. I'm going away for the weekend, and am not going to spoil it by doing a test before I go (in case it is positive)- but will do one when we get back. Help.
