Just feeling very lost at the moment. Not really enjoying life much. Putting on weight at an alarming rate...

I feel I've become someone I never wanted to be - a frumpy miserable Mummy. Took Citalopram for 2 months after punching the floor in anger as DD wouldn't stop crying (came off tablets in December). I have a few tactics for coping better but I don't want to just cope. I want to live!

I have read quite a few self help books over the years but thought there might be something else to try?

Any thoughts?

No advice unfortunately but didn't want you to go unanswered. Is your DD/DP around??

Is two months long enough to get the effect? I don't know much about it, but it sounds as if you may be being a little hard on yourself.

I don't think it even scratched the surface, but I didn't want to be on drugs really. Yes DH is around and yes really good husband and father.

Going to yoga classes once a week and having a personalised routine worked out for my by my lovely teacher for me to do in the evenings changed my life completely a couple of years ago when I got so angry/depressed that I punched DH to get him to take me seriously. DD4 is only 4m now so I've not been for ages and am noticing myself getting more and more short-tempered so am getting back in touch with my teacher. Try looking up viniyoga - very therapeutic yoga focussing heavily on breathing and relaxation.

Thank-you. I was going to look at conselling this week as it's offered through work.

Interesting that yoga really changed your state of mind.
