I think my neighbour is a loon

I think my neighbour is smeering dog(?) shit on my bin lid.

They seem really nice to talk to but ages ago they had their bin stolen and I told them they could use mine until they got a new one. This went on for a few weeks and I managed to get one off freecycle so gave them mine.

Now most mornings my lid is covered in shit. But why?

is there a really tall dog in the neighbourhood?

Failing that it sounds more like a teenage prank

But why my bin? it doesn't make any sense

can't understand why you think it would be those particular neighbours, when you've done them a favour. And if it is then they are complete loons!
Agree most likely a prank. If they are nice to talk to, can you ask them 'have you noticed any little scally's hanging about lately? My bin's been covered in shit a couple of times now, it's so childish, can only think kids are to blame. I am thinking of setting up a camera to see if I can catch them at it'
If they are mentalists, that should put a stop to it.

Why would your neighbours do that?

I have mentioned it to them and the bloke started laughing whilst the woman tried to act all natural and concerned. I'm sure it's them.

My friend had this - only all over her car - and it was just bored nasty yobbos doing it. Doesn't seem like your neighbours would do that after you've been so nice to them. Perhaps they thought you should have given them the nice new one?? Why didn't they get one themselves?

I'm so sorry, but this thread is making me laugh out loud.

I don't know why, its not remotely funny.

BTW, its not me doing the bin-smearing.

Can you put your bin away? In a shed or something? Failing that, try to rig up an alarm that shrieks when someone touches the bin!!

hide in your bin like oscar the grouch and when you hear someone approaching jump out and youll find your culprit.

not nice.

Could it be the same people who stole your neighbour's bin?

Report
snowleopard · 20/10/2008 14:34

Put a sign on the bin saying "you are on CCTV"

pmsl at the thought of someone leaping out of a bin like a madwoman, cheeseandseveredfingers, what a great idea! If nothing else they will think you are even madder than they are!

Just watch you don't throw open the lid just as they are about to start smearing, though!!

It would be very effective, especially if you wear a truly scary hallowwen mask. But really, who has the time to sit in a bin all day?

Do you not think?
I reckon it's your granny, she's pissed off because you never visit her

Rofl at Ghostly sitting in a bin with a shit covered lid all day on the off chance.

There was an article read out on the News Quiz this week about a man being convicted for smearing shit on pubs. He was convicted on three counts of actually smearing it and one of "being equipped."

you need to pimp your bin

Report
Joolyjoolyjoo · 20/10/2008 14:44

THinking about this- what on earth would make ANYONE want to smear dog poo anywhere?? Surely it must be as unpleasant (more?) for the smearer as for the smearee???

Are the two bins identical? Swap them round so if it is them they smear shit on their own bin. Or if it's not them, at least they will take it more seriously and help.
