What has put you off a date?

Just a lighthearted thread, just thinking of pre COVID dates and what put me off, what were yours?

I arranged to meet a guy for a Sunday drink in a pub in our local small town, he said to meet at one where no one would recognise him at the roughest looking place, I cancelled on him thinking he should of wanted to make more effort.

Another time, the date already smelt of alcohol when I arrived to meet him, he had a Tesco coat (I know shallow) a missing crown on his front tooth, told me it was my round! So left him there.
I think he must of used old pictures of him online.

The one that stands out for me was after a first date that went surprisingly well. Within an hour of parting from him, he was sending texts.
Not bad at first, saying he had a great time and would love to see me again.
This progressed into then telling me he can't wait to meet my kids, how he is great with kids and if it's easier for me as a lone parent he could always come to my home for the next date.

I told him he was too full on, that I was no longer interested and blocked him lol.

Putting his food (think Sunday lunch) into sliced bread and eating it like a sandwich.

Being at least 10 years older than his profile picture, emailing me the evening before our date to ask if I wanted a baby and still living with his ex wife and their twins. It was a nope from me.

I didn't meet someone because he kept telling me he was a nice guy. Not sure if that is paranoid but it just felt like a really odd thing to say. Just had a gut feeling. Maybe he was the love of my life, maybe he would have murdered me. Who knows?

I had a date with a guy that went well and we had a good snog at the end of it. All was lovely until he bit my nose. I told him there and then I wouldn't see him again.

when i was waiting for my date to show up and when he approached me he said "phew i thought you were the woman over there with the braids, i was getting ready to turn around and leave" that was a no go for me. put me totally off.

He had a man-bag...... not a normal bag, it was like a leather handbag thing.

Another who was dressed really sharply in a waistcoat when I met him on a night out. When we went for a date he was in a tracksuit and told me he only dressed up on nights out so he could pull! He was surprised I’d made an effort.....,,

I think he was aiming for some sort of sexy nibble but it really wasn't.

He turned up to our date in cowboy boots. Plus the date was at a Starbucks, so an all round mistake really.

(He also had a chunky bum which just doesn't appeal).

When he messaged me beforehand saying if he could stop over at mine and would I be his girlfriend.
This was before our first date. I think he just wanted sex and tried to love bomb me.

He wore a signet ring with the shield of his favorite premiership football club. He was 52.

He told me he couldn't say my name or refer to me by my actual name because it was his ex's Shock
And then he spent the whole evening telling me what a 'bitch' he ex was. I told him he was a misogynist for calling any woman a bitch.
I left.
He messaged a few days later asking for another date

@JemimaRacktool you got as far as skid marks on a first date? 🤦🏻‍♀️

There are some funny ones here Grin
@Countrywalking that reminds me of another guy a had a couple of dates with, he told me he had shown my picture to his friends and family that said I look just like his ex, when I face book snooped, I did weirdly look like her, think he was wanting me as a replacement for his ex. How weird he chose to date you knowing you had his ex's name.

Was in the cinema with a guy who ordered a hot dog but asked me if I wanted to get my mouth round this big thing (the hot dog) in a quiet, packed cinema room!

An hour later I leant over to him to say something but he leant over to me at the same time and we smacked heads!! He had a lump on his head afterwards

Couple of dates with an ex high ranking soldier. A few issues because he was convinced the KGB were after him and insisted on checking escape routes in the pub, edging along walls with his back to them and leaping around corners ready to shoot....and he dumped me GrinHmm

@NomadNoMore he failed to mention the high ranking was his level on call of duty, I bet!

"Edging along walls with his back to them and leaping around corners" 😂

I was working with two lovely guys at the time, one an ex major. They were so worried about his behaviour they wanted to come along too!

Oh, I forgot to mention he appeared to be getting orders through an imaginary earpiece.

I'm still single...
