What’s in the title really!

If someone inflicts pain on you because they have pain of their own what do they deserve from you? Hate? Pity? Revenge? Nothing?

I think you need to be a bit careful there, can you describe what happened? You are clearly thinking of inflicting pain on someone else and I would say there are red flags all over your post. What did they do to you, how do you know they were doing it because of pain and why would that make you want to inflict more pain on them? What sort of revenge? Are you dangerous?

Did your ex finish with you and you want people on here to sanction you doing something in revenge? No fury like a woman scorned?

More information needed.

First off, how do you know that is the reason they inflict pain? There are plenty of people who have endured horrendous pain and would never hurt another person because of that.

So this is actually a character flaw in them. They like to inflict pain. What they deserve philosophically depend son your worldview.

If, however, you are asking how you should deal with one of their kind, then you should run far and fast. Block everywhere. This is not about punishing them, it's about protecting you.

The second you are more concerned with them and not you is the time to get WAAAAY more interested in yourself.

The second you are more concerned with them and not you is the time to get WAAAAY more interested in yourself I don't think the OP is more concerned about the other person?

Someone who takes out their feelings on someone else (ie when they are in pain) aren't usually doing it "on purpose". They are doing it because they can't manage their feelings very well.

So this is actually a character flaw in them. They like to inflict pain i do think we need to know more details to know whether this is right or not, surely?
