Any advice welcome(3 Posts)
I've been coping with lockdown quite well. I am single and live on my own. I have been trying to exercise and eat right and had occasional socially distanced meetings with friends.
Over the past two days I've been really tearful. An encounter with a family member got me down. It brought back memories of how I've been the family scape goat. I've decided to go low contact.
Work has been stressful and I may lose my job so that had been on my mind.
Also, I've been thinking about how the men I date don't stick around. I've read up on relationship advice and could see where I was going wrong although I generally have bad luck with men. I was chatting to someone and we seemed to have things in common and then he just ghosted me. I know it happens all the time but I enjoyed getting the messages.
All in all it's been a bit too much. I would love to go away for a break but it's not really possible at the moment.
Any advice on how I can cheer up?
Sorry you are feeling this way OP. Could you try watching something funny on TV or do some of the things you enjoy to help short term. And maybe try talking through how you feel with a friend or counsellor.
You are not alone, OP.
Go out for a walk, or pick up a trashy novel, or watch a film, play happy music and dance like there's no tomorrow, be nice to yourself.
