Should I text him?

So before lockdown I was seeing a guy. We met about 10 times in around a month and I even met his children. Then lockdown happened and obviously we couldn't see eachother so things have naturally dwindled. I knew he was struggling with the whole lockdown business and it had made him feel down so I have reached out to him a few times. During one of our chats early on in lockdown he promised to take me out for dinner when lockdown was over. So should I text him something cheeky like 'oi you still owe me a dinner date' or just leave it? I don't want to make a mug of myself but equally I think well I don't have anything to lose.

No don't. If he was interested he would have reached out to you

I would - you've got nothing to lose.

I go inwards when not coping, and even though I've done that and pushed people away recently, I would love someone to invite me to something right now.

I would send a casual text to ask how he is and did he want to meet up. I wouldn’t send a message saying “oi you owe me a dinner date”.

Go for it, I wouldn't mention a date straight out, just send a friendly message asking how he is just to test the waters.
If you don't hear back, no sweat at least you tried and know to tick that one off.
He might be thinking the same but wondering if it's too awkward now it's been a while, someone has to make the move.

Hang on, how long ago did you last hear from him?

Crazycrafter1 Fri 03-Jul-20 18:13:14

Around 3 weeks ago

Leave it. If someone is interested in you, they don't just ignore you for weeks. Not sure why you met his children so quickly, bit weird.

Who was the last to make contact?

PumpkinP Fri 03-Jul-20 18:22:53

Leave it, you haven’t even heard from him in 3 weeks, he’s obviously not that into you, why on earth did you meet his kids after only 10 dates??

Crazycrafter1 Fri 03-Jul-20 18:23:05

I was which makes me think I should leave it

After not hearing from him for three weeks I'd not bother :/ sounds like he's ghosting you x

I would leave it. It’s a huge red flag. Does he have a gf possibly. You should not have met his kids already.

one thing this pandemic should show us all is how nothing in life is a guarantee not even life itself so do what makes you happy

don't waste time pondering over should i or shouldn't i just text & press send

he responds great he doesn't move on

Serenity45 Fri 03-Jul-20 18:31:58

3 weeks and you made last contact? I'd honestly leave it OP. And even if he got in touch now I'd not be engaging with him. He introduced you to his children very quickly which sounds a bit dodgy to me.

If you don't ask you don't get. You might regret it later on. And take it from someone who unfortunately knows life is far too short to play it cool. If you like him then go for it. If it's a no or he ignores you you can move on knowing you tried that one last time. Hope it all goes well for you x

Wtf let's their kids meet a partner after such little time? Well not even a partner at that point! The mind truly boggles
