Is this him controlling me?

I broke up with my 40 year old boyfriend 3 weeks ago then he ignored me for weeks, deliberately not reading any messages I’d sent, apologising for what I’d said and hoped we could still talk etc.

After 3 weeks of silence from him, I chose to delete him from Facebook as I didn’t see any point if he was never gonna talk to me again.

3 hours after I deleted him from fb, he read all my texts & then blocked me on fb.

You dumped him therefore an ex and can't control you...
You give him too much head space op. Move on.

No.
That’s him being an arse and doing exactly what you did first.

  1. You are being ridiculous.

  2. Don't spam people after you dump them. So rude.

No, it's him blocking you.

You say he 'deliberately didn't read your messages'. But you have no idea whether it was 'deliberate' evasion or whether he just doesn't care enough to be bothered to read them.

Hint. He doesn't care enough. We've been here before. Give it up, OP.

I’m assuming your quite young the way you refer to his age.
Move on it’s over

Are you the 27yo whose 40yo boyfriend would only talk outside the house because his mother didn't like you, think a letter was sent post breakup?

Apologies if I'm confusing you with another poster.

Is this the 40 year old who lives with his mum, had to hide from his mum to phone you and said he didn’t love you?

I think you might need some professional help if so.

Let it go now.

Seriously.

In answer to your title and without any other details, No. This is you breaking up with him, him accepting that and moving on.

It's a bit twatty of him, but you're best off out of it, OP.

If you break up with someone you don’t get to complain that they don’t read your messages. You don’t get to stay friends, you don’t get to talk. You are done.

Erm you dumped him 🤷‍♀️ Hence why he didn’t read or reply to your messages ....

You sound like a drama queen. It’s time to move on.

No, he has blocked you on social media, that's all.

If I got dumped I wouldn't be entering into any further conversations. Which is what he's done.

NoMoreDickheads · 07/06/2020 18:41

No, you dumped him so he's hardly controlling you now.

You chose to delete him first, so he chose to block you, probably to make himself feel better. Which is fair enough.

To be honest, it sounds like you had little respect for his boundaries. You broke up and then messaged him for “weeks”?

You ended it. He accepted it. He doesn’t have to be gracious and respond to your messages if he doesn’t want to. Draw a line and move on.

You dumped him on your terms - totally fine.

The relationship is over on your terms - totally fine.

You messaged him after the break up, on your terms - fine and his prerogative not to reply.

You are annoyed / baffled he hasn't replied - odd and not empathetic of you.

I don't know how you can't see that.

Good on him.
